I have had a good five weeks training since my last tournament in Paris. Have been mixing up the training with a good variety of hitting, weights, circuits and playing. We have had England training squads as well which have been really good and it’s nice to get on court with the other girls. The camps have always had a good atmosphere with everyone working hard.
I leave for a three week trip to Australia and New Zealand on Monday 6th and am really looking forward to it. A week in Melbourne first, training and acclimatising and then onto Canberra for the Australian Open. It’s winter time there now… Brrrr! After Canberra it’s straight onto New Zealand for a tournament in Mata Mata. I’ve never been to New Zealand before so am really excited about that. Having loved the lord of the rings films I can’t wait to see it for myself!
On another note it’s been great watching the Olympics but I do have a love hate relationship with it! It all looks absolutely amazing and it’s great to see Team GB doing well. At the same time it’s so hard watching as we all know how much squash deserves its place in the Olympics and how incredible it would be for the sport. So everyone please back the bid for 2020 and get squash in its rightful place where it deserves to be!!
